April 2014: Femfessionals Nashville, Nashville, TN. As President of the local chapter, I was responsible for leading all groups, workshops and networking events to run the meeting, introduce speakers and lead the group in connecting and networking opportunities.

March 2014: Femfessionals Nashville, Cool Springs, TN. Presented to women’s business network organization “Mind Your Own Business: Mindfulness techniques to reduce stress and increase profitability.” This was a workshop designed to illustrate how to stay in your own backyard taking care of yourself and staying in the present. Mindfulness and gratitude exercises were employed as well as education on the cost of stress from a personal and professional perspective.

October 2013: WIOD/Rick Sanchez Radio Show, Fort Lauderdale, FL. Appeared on the Rick Sanchez Radio Show on WIOD to discuss postpartum depression and its potential role in the White House incident where a woman ran her car into the gates of the White House and was shot by security with an infant in the backseat of the car.

March 2013: Faulk Center for Counseling, Boca Raton, FL. Presented to staff and interns on working with patient population experiencing infertility. Talked about the professional nuances needed in order to break into the medical market. Discussed credentialing and experience necessary to provide mandated mental health evaluations for donors and donor recipients. Went over forms and reports necessary for these evaluations.

March 2013: Nova Southeastern University, Davie, FL. Co-presented with Dr. Randy Heller “On the Path to Private Practice.” Educated attendants on the “how to’s” for starting your private practice. Covered such topics as self assessment, practice vision, opening your office, developing a referral base, creating a practice handbook and all necessary forms. Also discussed fee’s, insurance, collections, marketing, legal/ethical issues and clinical/customer service.

January 2013: WPLG Channel 10, Fort Lauderdale, FL. Featured by local South Florida news station regarding women and couples who experience infertility and the use of mental health support to help them through this tumultuous time.

October 2009: AAMFT National Conference, Sacramento, CA Faculty and Doctoral Candidate Present at AAMF Conference In Sacramento. Shelley Green, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Family Therapy (DFT) in the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) and Lauryn Salassi Gilliam, M.S., a doctoral candidate in DFT, presented a workshop entitled “Sex, Lies, and Love: A Both/And Approach to Infidelity, Abuse, and Addiction” at the annual conference of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy in Sacramento, CA.

October 2009: AAMFT National Conference, Sacramento, CA Faculty and Doctoral Candidates present poster on “Three Authors, One Client: A Qualitative Description of Marriage and Family Therapy Initial Case Documentation.”.

AFA Connect 2009 Newsletter and Directory Published an article entitled “Maintaining Friendships During Infertility Treatments” in Connect, a publication of The American Fertility Association, as a doctoral candidate in the Department of Family Therapy.

May 2009: IVF Reproductive Associates, Margate, FL Presented to all staff of the fertility clinic on relational issues pertaining to customer/patient satisfaction. Helped to give insight to medical staff on the infertility patient’s perspective as well as the systemic nature of the health profession. Gave tips on how to work more relationally with the customers in order to help achieve the best possible outcome for the patient as well as the clinic and the staff.

November 2008: QHR National Conference Alberta, Canada Three Authors One Client: Co-researcher for presentation at the 2009 National Qualitative Health Research Conference at Banff in Alberta, CA.

May 2008: FAMFT State Conference, Fort Lauderdale, FL. Sex, lies, and love: A systemic approach to infidelity, abuse, and addiction. Workshop presented at the annual conference of the Florida Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

December 2007: AMWA Student Newsletter AMWA Student Newsletter published an article in the American Medical Women’s Association titled "Helping to Create the Best Possible Outcome." This article outlined the benefits of utilizing therapeutic resources in medical setting emphasizing a Reproductive Endocrinology or Infertility setting.

November 2007: CFHA Asheville, NC. Collaborative Family Healthcare Association Poster Presentation. This presentation was done on the integration of the therapeutic and medical models in a clinical setting, more specifically in an infertility clinic.

Summer 2007: SHSS Dialogues Newsletter. Wrote an article on the SHSS Internship Fair of 2007 for Nova Southeastern University’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences Newsletter.

August 2007: SU Residential Institute Fort Lauderdale, FL. Co-presented with Dr. Shelley Green utilizing a case study of the benefits of a relational model of therapy with a couple experiencing sexual dissatisfaction in their relationship to students and academia at the Nova Southeastern University Residential Institute.

June 2007: Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, FL. Spoke to Dr. AnnaLynn Schooley’s Assessment class about real world experience to “soon to be” graduates from the Master’s program in Marriage and Family Therapy.

May 2007: FAMFT State Conference, Lake Mary, FL. Florida Association of Marriage and Family Therapist Poster Presentation. The poster presented was using Solution Focused Therapy to work with infertility patients in a clinical setting. This brief therapy model showed how integrating therapy into a medical clinic can be beneficial without being an hour-long session. Shadowing the doctor, I was able to see all of his patients in a day and leave them with some feeling of therapeutic support in a short amount of time. Utilizing Solution Focused Therapy is helpful because it draws out exceptions and shows strengths, while leaving the patient with some hope that their life is not all bad, just this part for this time.

April 2007: Valdosta State Regional Student Conference, Valdosta, GA. Presented to other students and therapists on the integration of therapeutic resources into a medical/fertility clinic using Solution Focused therapy and MRI as the therapeutic models. This presentation included a brief description of the fertility diagnostic and treatment protocol as well as discussed what the stressors that can challenge the patients and could have an effect on their overall treatment.

April 2007: Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, FL. Spoke to Dr. Debra Nixon’s Diversity class about the process a student goes through and my personal experience of attending her diversity class in the Master's program.
